At the height of the Dot.com bust in 2002, when companies were experiencing layoffs and cutting costs, 25-year-old Sarah Znerold made a bold decision to leave her secure job in a successful public relations agency and pursue a dream of spearheading a company of her own. Just five years later, SZPR, Inc is an award-winning national public relations and marketing firm, San Diego’s 25th fastest growing privately held business and Znerold was just named a finalist in the Most Admired Chief Executive Award by The San Diego Business Journal.

Over the past four years, SZPR’s revenue has grown more than 2,000 percent, starting with small local companies and flourishing into big-name, national clients such as Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Hilton Hotels and San Diego Restaurant Week. In the last year, SZPR garnered praise from the public relations community with two PRSA Bernay awards for its excellence in communications on behalf of Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream and San Diego Restaurant Week. This year, SZPR is a Stevie Awards Finalist for “Best Communications Campaign” with Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream.
SZPR is well positioned as one of the top PR firms in San Diego and Znerold has been recognized at the Stevie Awards for Women in Business “Best Young Entrepreneur,” 944 Magazine’s "Movers and Shakers Under 30," one of The San Diego Metropolitan’s “Top 40 Under 40” and YWCA's 2005 Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) award.
As part of Znerold’s commitment to help increase awareness for nonprofit organizations with limited resources, she sits on the Board of Directors for Keep-a-Breast Foundation and also finds time to provide pro-bono public relations services to BRAVO San Diego, the Balboa Theatre Foundation and many other nonprofit organizations.
She is also active in San Diego business community through Vistage International, Downtown Business Association and Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
